Elegant Furniture Made of Acrylic – The Invisibles Light by Tokujin Yoshioka
After exhibited The Invisibles at Kartel Gallery in 2010 that made out of the transparent blocks of acrylic, Japanese designer Tokujin Yoshioka has come with The Invisibles Light in 2011. It is furniture collection that also made from of clear acrylic. Like his The Invisibles, The Invisibles Light is also designed for Italian furniture brand Kartell and is set to make its debut at Milan Design Week.
The Invisibles Light is sequel of transparent furniture collection The Invisibles. It is a slimmed-down version of ‘The Invisibles,’ which saw Yoshioka creating tables and chairs that seemed to disappear into thin-air with their clear-acrylic construction. What makes the difference between The Invisibles and The Invisibles light is that The Invisibles’ collection had chairs and tables that were somewhat bulky, which worked against the collection’s whole invisible furniture theme while ‘The Invisibles Light’ collection features designs that have had the fat trimmed off—they are nearly impossible to see and resonate with intended theme. In another world, The Invisibles Light has similar profile with The Invisibles but it is made with a thinner acrylic.
The Invisibles Light is described as furniture collection that as if hiding its appearance to escape from this material world. The collection contains of tables with different sizes. It provides elegant and clean nuance for home and office interior that absolutely transparent and makes them almost invisible. You can see only on the top that is seen as it is made of white acryl. Unfortunately, the series only available in on color but is perfect for indoor furniture like a chameleon.
