Usually, hammocks is placed near a lake and hung between two trees. So you can enjoy your self and get the relaxing atmosphere by laying on it. But the Wave Hammock by Belgian company Royal Botany is so different. Designed by two designers from Sweden, Erik Nyberg and Gustav Strom, Wave hammock is a modern outdoor furniture that is not hung between two trees but it hangs on one leg that looks about to fall, with a semi transparent canopy that is designed to block 86% sun.
The Wave hammock is constructed from materials that strong enough to withstand the weight of people and weather conditions. It is made of electro-polished stainless steel and 2 types of perforated fabric, one for the upper roof section and another for the seated area. Come in size 300cm x 365cm x 255cm, the Wave hammock has a removable cushion in foam/fabric. The best thing is that it can rotate 90? around the base, giving it additional flexibility depending on the position of the sun.
This modern Wave hammock is able to create a unique floating impression by being pivoted on one single point at the base. It is designed to give you the feeling of lying underneath a canopy of a tree, whilst being gently enveloped by natural space. The hammock is available in many different colors. There are white, cappuccino, black or turquoise with two base options allowing for integration in the terrace or embedment into the ground. It has been launched at The Hotel Show in Dubai in June 2008, where it received huge attention and design acclaim. More info click here
