Bamboo Bench, Natural Seating Design by Gal Ben-Arav

January 31, 2011 Filed Under: Seating Design

So let me tell you something, when the Panda in China wondering around where all the bamboo have gone, they should protest Gal Ben-Arav as this Bamboo Bench uses some bamboos for the cushions. This natural seating design is very deep cheap indeed as it uses only bamboo and cast aluminum. What’s great is that the natural material used and the easy way to replace the bamboo once they are worn out. This bench is a good public seating or as an outdoor bench where it can gives a little touch of natural in those area. The sustainable bench isn’t just living up to the name of sustainable as the process is really minimum due to the simplicity at the design which means the designer has marvelously invested in energy. If that’s not enough, the bench can be 100% recycled. Bamboo which is grown and origin of Asia especially in China, where it’s being used as the main food for Panda, really is durable, flexible and also comfortable.

Gal Stated that the reason behind this sustainable seating design is because “Sustainable is a wide concept. I chose to deal with it in the context of raw material, living environment, localism, and sustainable system.” and he also said that “I chose to use bamboo in its raw form. In this way, the processing is minimal as well as the invested energy, it can be 100% recycled and the out coming morphology creates a new micro-wild natural environment that can be situated in an urban, industrial and gray environment and revive it.” So dear Panda and Dear Readers, let’s enjoy seating at this nicely made natural bench design.
