Modern Floating House in Country Cottage Flair with Integrated Dock and Boathouse

December 24, 2010 Filed Under: Homes Design

The floating house here is located on where Georgian Bay meets Lake Huron. This floating house by Michael Meredith of Toronto-based MOS uses theme of country cottage flair. It becomes even more enticing as the cottage home design uses a wonderful watery appeal approach which makes it perfect for the swimmers, boaters and fishermen out there. This floating country cottage which sits above on the water is built among windswept trees and the rocky Canadian Shield terrain. Building a house no matter what kind it’s in a rocky terrain is definitely hard, it’s not an easy spot to built. It will take you on a 20 minute boat ride to get you to the mainland.

The country home design here has a perfect backdrop to support this kind of island house. It is a necklace of buildings. The interior is just 1,250 square feet and this main cottage has an integrated boathouse and dock. It is also supported with separate cottages to accommodate overnight guests where they usually spend summers here. This wood clad cottage is the perfect getaway and a good destination to return back to the nature.
