How To Repurposing Furniture

December 19, 2010 Filed Under: Furniture

It’s early in the morning at 1 am here and still I can’t get these small eyes to shut while on the other hand still browsing around modern residential design website. There are two things that bugs my mind one is about what to do with my furniture and the other is how to repurpose them. It’s true that sometimes we get tired of our furniture. Looking the same old thing again and again, over and over, by repurposing furniture it means you’re creating a whole new line of furniture and you don’t waste what you have. So how do you exactly repurpose furniture? Here’s our early morning coverage :

The easiest way of repurposing your furniture and make them look not boring is to paint it. Painting furniture isn’t just simply like the terms “painting”. You got to grow a single cell of a brain even with painting here. If your furniture line is made from natural materials then it’s better to furnished them darker or when it’s already dark you can remove it and make that wooden furniture lighter (get your wood workers near where you live to do this). When it come to furniture materials made out of steel then it’s better to carefully paint according to the atmosphere of your home, make sure first you peel of the first original paint then repaint furniture thoroughly.

If you have empty containers and unused then you can always turn them into a pot. Use your old containers and turn them into planters. Those empty bottles can be a real hero at your interior if you just know what to do with them. Old glass bottles and containers also can be used into glass lamps or lighting pendants.

You can also strip down you furniture and make a new furniture line out of it, but beware, only do this if you only know where you are going to. You can strip down barn doors and make it as a rustic dining table. Or you can strip down your bi fold doors to make it as a headboard.

Take old home finishes to salvage yards is very important as you’re helping to make this world a greener better place. By using existing materials it means that you’re being eco-friendly and eco-savvy. Used carpet, denim jeans, rubber tires, and glass can all be recycled.

Get ideas from a home improvement store as this will help you get and develop new ideas from you local store. Other alternative might be searching through the web as this will definitely help you much.

Repurposing your furniture can beautify your house and on the other side it has several other benefits such as saving your money and saving this planet as you’re being eco friendly and eco savvy.
