When it comes to the words of sustainable home, oh baby, i am just loving it. Why is that so? It is because sustainable house design is close to preserving energy and it’s also one of an architectural technique to keep environmentally friendly building design. This delightful home by Glen Irani Architects,located on the Venice Canals of Los Angeles, California, is the perfect set of sustainable residence. The challenge of this green residence project was to maximize outdoor space on a volume which will look as if it’s above the ground level. Not only that the architect succeeded in making it possible at this green home design which covers 2500 square feet(232 sqm) with three bedrooms and two offices, this modern home manages to be sustainable as well.

Here are some description on this friendly home design: “Embodied energy analysis on major systems resulted in the use of exterior man-made slate panels, exposed concrete walls and radiant hydronic heating and many of the finishes. Natural ventilation is carefully devised with proper window placements and a wind tower that extend 9’ above the roof (the max allowed by code) in order to eliminate air conditioning. Roof-mounted photovoltaic panels offset 80% of power demands. With the exception of interior wall paint, all interior finishes are devised to last indefinitely so that future emissions from finish replacements are minimized or eliminated.” This house also equipped with outdoor noise reducing system thus you don’t need to be bothered by the noisy sound produces from outside.
