I am so interested with this floating garden. I think this is one of creative ideas, and of course I can’t help posting it in this site. In collaboration between three designers, Florent Coirier, Grégory Marion and Laurianne Lopez for the manufacturer Vertilignes has produced the floating garden called Ukiyo-e. Inspired from art of the traditional Japanese print, Ukiyo-e its self in Japanese has three meaning. “Images of the floating world”, “Images of the world which passes” and “Images of the unstable world”. These are the most common phrases to translate the word Ukiyo-e, which evokes the traditional art of Japanese art print on blocks of wood.

Ukiyo-e is a hanging garden that offers a new perspective on indoor gardening. The garden offers a new way of arresting the vegetable without having an overhanging point of view which dominates the situation. It allows a greater emphasis to be placed on the plants that grow at eye level. Made of resin and fiberglass, Ukiyo-e hanging garden using a special type of soil that is created by the company Vertilab. The soil is called Vertisol. It is a mix of an organic and a non organic component, which enhance the time life of the plant. Thanks of this soil that allows plants to stay longer without the addition of water, making more practical maintenance. The Ukiyo-e will bring the green into your house.
