Creative Kitchen Cabinets Made of Recycled Wood Wine Crates

Have you ever thought that you can get kitchen or some storage cabinets using your old wine or beer crates? Spanish couple Sergio Carratala and Petz Scholtus who live 600 square foot flat in Barcelona has proved it. They have renovated their flat with many creative solutions by making such kitchen cabinets for their apartment from wine crates and told the world how others can do them too.

Sergio Carratala and Petz Scholtus made a conscious decision to make their apartment their testing lab for practical and affordable sustainable living. The couple made of kitchen cabinets from recycled wood wine crates and also crated cabinet doors of sides of wine crate boxes. The doors are equipped with open on a push system that removes the need for hangles.

To create your kitchen cabinets from wine crates is so easy. Before started, you need cabinet frames, a kitchen cupboard, wooden wine crates, 8mm wooden board for doors, nails and screws, varnish, knobs, hinges, and some simple power tools. After completed, you can start to create your kitchen cabinets. First, take off the backs and sides of the wooden boxes and remove all the nails. Second, lay out the fronts in your desired design to form the layout of your cabinets as a whole then overlap and mix different kinds of wood to meet your aesthetic specifications. Third, cut these sides to desired sizes and nail them on to 8mm wooden boards. Fourth, cut the shape of the doors, attach the hinges and then install them. Last, varnish the wood from the boxes.
