October 27, 2010 Filed Under: Seating Design

Cathay Pasific has unveiled its new lounge series at Hong Kong International Airport. This is a modern-style lounge series designed by Foster + Partners, an International architecture planning and design firm. Combining the highest quality materials with a new seating system, the lounge will transform the experience for passengers using Hong Kong’s flag carrier. The design supports the concept of Cathay Pacific for a high-quality lounge that is able to accommodate both First and Business Class passengers, while maximizing the available space for relaxation and the airline’s range. The lounge, both for First and Business Class passengers, has several zones including the IT Zone and Relaxing one to cater to passenger needs. The lounge is made of material palette includes the use of marble, leather upholstery and bamboo with a highly reflective ceiling. It is created to allow plenty of daylight in with airside views.

Besides, Foster + Partners also designed the furniture like the Cathay Solus Chair that is manufactured in Italy by Poltrona Frau. Its hourglass shape rises from a circular base to create a private space for individual travellers. The chair’s is made of soft leather upholstery which is enclosed by a solid and lacquered shell. The comfortable seat integrates a power supply and a table which can be used as an informal desk. I’m sure it will be impressed guests and passengers. For more info visit here.
