The passive solar home design by Carol Richard, the Atlanta architecture from Richard Wittschiebe Hand firm has really taught us on to keep using less energy while running the home activities at maximum. The passive solar house is located in Madison, Wisconsin. The modern sustainable architecture project is done using the effort from Fred Berg, a mechanical engineer which happens to be her husband. The sustainable home later was known as the first LEED for Homes Platinum rated residence in July 2009 at Wisconsin.

Set near a post war Cape Cod style homes peppered with some modern style, the 1960s homes was not designed for the environment to fit into the house but it was actually the vice versa. The wood clad house is occupying 2,700 sq. ft. The shape is quite unobtrusive with two toned cedar siding and roof to make the house appear smaller. The passive solar home design is positioned to take in sun during the winter as much as possible while during the summer the house is hoped to give a passive cooling. By judging through the windows you can see that it is naturally illuminating the open concept living area, with double height proportion and bright airy space.
