Modern Green Korean Architectural Building Design by BCHO Architect
Located at 77, Pyeongdong-ri, APRM-eup, Danyang-gu, Chungbuk, Korea, this architectural site purpose is to educate visitors about the potential of recycling concrete. In Korea the concrete is the main material of the buildings therefore it’s imperative to begin reusing concrete. The modern architectural building, Visitors Center, is an example of how to reuse this material in different types of construction, smelting, types of formwork, and others. The project site occupies 1031.2 m² spaces. Here you will witness broken concrete which are by then being consolidated and some reused concretes have been made into a translucent and opaque tiles. The show continue on to evolve and change at this Visitor Center where you will be astonished by the new developed techniques of concretes.
The main façade of the modern building is made out of concrete. The remaining was recycled for insulation against the sung on the roof and used as a material in the street around. Although after the positioning and linear movement of the earth were generated ideas for the facade of the new building, concrete walls were applied on the eastern facade, which evokes images of the adjacent woods. There are four openings in the wall of the east and long vertical windows were created in their spaces in the middle. Through the windows, you can see how the concrete is produced in the factory. Behind the top two openings, one can see the courtyard of the visitor center and cafe next to the courtyard, surrounded by a water garden. Visit Byoungsoo Cho for further information.
